Pizza, Music and Stampin'!

OK, so we never did turn on the music, but the company and conversation was too good to interrupt!

Here are the three cards we made last night.
This first card uses stamps from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set. It dawned on me that I have never used this stamp - I usually use the pine tree and the stand of bare trees for winter projects.
For this card, we used the "thumping" technique. I inked the image in Crushed Curry, used my Stampin' Write marker on the trunk and thumped other colors over the leaf areas. The main colors are Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango and Naturals Ivory.

This is a simple, yet elegant Christmas card. The template can be used for any occasion, though. Just use the eyelet scallop edge punch on a piece of Designer Series Paper, add some ribbon and a sentiment... Viola! There's a lovely, hand-made card.
Colors here are Night of Navy, Soft Suede and Shimmery White card stock. The Designer Paper comes from the Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP featured in our Holiday Mini.
This final card pairs the colors featured in the Holiday Lounge DSP - Taken with Teal, Kraft and Real Red. We stamped the Merry Christmas from our Level 1 Hostess set (Holiday Best) in Craft Whisper White Ink and heat embossed it. Other products used are the Ticket Corner punch, Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP and Whisper White Satin ribbon.
Quick, easy and doesn't take too long to assemble!
I hope you can join us for the next PMS (Pizza, Music & Stampin')Night: November 17th from 6-8 pm

Super-Duper Special Opportunity!

Have Fun Doing What You Love
From July 15 — August 31, you can join the Stampin' Up! family for as little as $85 with the Mini Starter Kit. Have fun helping friends and family create exciting projects, while earning free products and even a little extra cash!
This special starts today! Join my team and I will include the In Color Stampin' Write Markers to the deal! Learn more by visiting my website or contacting me via email or phone. Stampin' Up! offers a great way to get the products you love (at a discount), spend time with others who love to stamp (holding workshops), and making a few extra dollars while having fun (with in-home workshops, clubs, online ordering, and more).
There are so many levels to being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I signed up 3 years ago because I didn't want to pay full price for my stamps. I had done very little stamping prior to becoming a demonstrator (maybe later this week I'll post my first stamped Christmas card). Once I started playing with my stamps and papers and CASE-ing (Copy And Share Everything) the cards I saw online - I discovered a new passion... some might call it an addiction! I could make cards in a short amount of time and share them with others.
Then a funny thing happened... I discovered that my friends liked to stamp, too! So we started getting together, having parties and eventually started a club. One friend even decided right away that she should get a discount on her orders and signed up 3 months after me. Now here i sit, 3 fun-filled years later as a MANAGER with Stampin' Up! I have a great base of customers and an even greater groups of friends in my down line (those are people that signed up as demonstrators in connection to me).
So if you have ever considered this, let's chat and see if Stampin' Up! is the right fit for your needs.
Happy Stampin' and God Bless!
Becca =)

July Stamp-a-Stack Cards

Here is a card we made for the July SAS. I used the new sets and colors and had a wonderful turn-out (thank you ladies! Hope you had fun!)

This one uses the new and adorable Animal Stories & Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Sets, Chocolate Chip, Rose Red and Whisper White card stock and Tall Tales Designer Series Paper (DSP).
The giraffe is done with the "rock and roll" technique. First we stamped it with So Saffron, then rolled it on the Close to Cocoa pad. The words were stamped with Brilliant Blue, punched out with the small oval and placed behind some of our great Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware.
Simple, yet perfect for Baby Gifts or a child's birthday.

More to come tomorrow!
Keep on Stampin'!

Simple Note Card Gifts

Here are a few of the Note Card gifts I put together for Katy's teachers. I wanted to be sure I didn't add to their clutter, so I decided to give them cards they could use. I simply added some Designer Series Papers to the pre-scored Note Cards from Stampin' Up! (Item #107311, 20 cards with envelopes for $5.95).

I used different stamp sets for each. the blue ones in the center were stamped with the "Say it With Scallops" set (our Ronald McDonald House Charity stamp set for 2009) then punched them out with the Scallop Square Punch.

For the box base, I just measured the envelopes and added 2" to each side... the envelopes for the Note Cards measure 5 1/8" X 3 5/8", so I cut my coordinating c/s to 9-1/4" X 7-3/4". Then scored at 1" and 2" all the way around, clipped the corners and folded into a box (the sides are reinforced by the double folds to make them sturdier). Add a coordinating belly band and viola! you have a great gift! If you have any questions, I will be happy to clarify.

Thanks for looking!

Rebecca =)

Top Note Purses - Faux Alligator

Aren't these adorable!!?!?
My upline, Lynda Glassmoyer, surprised me with a very thoughtful gift when I promoted to Manager. She sent me 3 fabulouse tutorials from Gretchen Barron.

Here are the Top Note purses I made from one of those tutorials. They are not too difficult once you master the Faux Alligator Skin Technique - after you use your Sizzix Big Shot and Top Note die with your chosen card stock, ink the entire surface with Versa Mark ink, and clear embossing powder. Use your bone folder or similar implement to drag wavy lines through the powder until it resembles the cracked surface of an alligator. Tap off the excess embossing powder and use your heat gun to set the embossing. The possibilities are endless... you can use this for more purses, belts, shoes, boots, or just a very cool background!

Here is a side view of the purses. they are just big enough to hold a gift card, lip gloss, or a few chocolates! Check out the tutorials offered by Gretchen and give it a try!

Fun S'more Kits!

I have had a lot of fun making s'more kits for gifts! What a fun Summertime treat! These are the treats I made to thank Katy's teachers and staff at her school. I got lots of ooos and ahhhs (music to a stamper's ears!).
The first picture used Ivory Naturals, Real Red, and Chocolate Chip card stock. The stamp set is "Under the Stars" - I absolutely adore this set!

Here is the latest batch of S'more Treats! I switched up the colors a bit, but still used the "Under the Stars" stamp set from Stampin' Up! For these, I used Kraft, Bravo Burgundy, Handsome Hunter, Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla.
I even used the Skeeters wheel in the back of the topper.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!

Happy Father's Day!

I just wanted to take a moment and share a project I made last month. It was a fun gift for a friend. She and her husband celebrated their 30th anniversary by renewing their vows. It was a beautiful evening.

It was fun to go to the store and find the items I needed in matching Stampin' Up! Colors - and not hard, either! I set out with the idea of creating a wedding cake of towels for a money holder (figured it was a lot nicer than a card with cash or a gift card). So I found some comfy towels, ribbon that coordinates with SU! colors, a wedding cake photo topper (it was discounted a LOT and I used it in place of a card), and set it all atop a pizza pan. Viola! A special gift for a special couple.

Later this week, I will share some projects I made for the local Beachcomber's Bazaar. Happy Stampin'!

June Stamp-a-Stack

Here are the cards we are making this weekend.
The first one uses Boatloads of Love and the bleaching teachnique. Then we used the Sticky Cuts and red chunky glitter. Then the Free & the Brave set for a patriotic card.

We Doodled a bit with some stylized hardware.

And I love the scallop note cards - perfect for a baby gift... and so easy, too!!! I hope you enjoy these. Let me know if you have any questions.

Happy Stampin'!

Happy Memorial Day!

What better way to celebrate than to have friends over and share some great all-American food? I know this isn't stamping-related, but hope you don't mind this post.

While Memorial Day is a somber occasion, I choose to celebrate the lives of the veterans that surround me daily. I am humbled and honored by the sacrifices made by our American heroes on the battlefields and as they carry out their duties in the states.
My family of full of veterans - from me, to my wonderful husband, both of my brothers, my father and I am sure there are several in past generations as well. We are a proud military family representing the US Navy, Army and Air Force.
The next picture is of my hubby and me. Then of some of our friends who joined to make this weekend extra special!

May Stamp-a-Stack Cards

Here are 2 of the cards we made this month at my stamp-a-stack. The first one uses the Reinker Watercolor technique that was shown at the Seattle Regional. I was dying to try this, but don't have the Manhattan Rose that was shown to us. So I looked through my stamps and found my Embrace Life set - it turned out wonderfully!
Ingredients: Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine tango and Shimmery White c/s; Embrace Life Stamp set; Whisper White craft ink, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango and Summer Sun Classic ink or reinkers, Clear embossing powder, Heat tool, white organza ribbon and stampin' dimensionals.
Directions: Just stamp your image in Craft white ink on Shimmery White c/s then heat emboss. Once you have done this, spray the paper until it has puddles. Dip your Aquapainter in the ink and then touch it to the water on the c/s - the color will spread and disperse in the water. Add a couple more colors for a beautiful finish. You can either let the color air dry or use a paper towel and heat gun to dry it faster. Cut out and add to your card or project.

This next card was a fun birthday card. We used bright colors and the Big Shot.
Ingredients: Whisper White, Green Galore, Pink Passion and Pixie Pink c/s; Bitty Birthday and A Little Birthday Cheer stamp sets; Sizzix Big Shot and Big bold Cupcakes dies,Crimper, Stampin' Dimensionals, Crystal Affects, Scallop Edge Punch.

Welcome to the newest members of my Stampin' Up! Team!!!

OK... so I am a little behind - hopefully, I will get the hang of this blogging stuff soon. (Michelle is SO much better at this than I am...)

So, on April 18th (yes, 2009... I'm not that behind) I had the pleasure of attending the Seattle Stampin' Up! Regional Conference. I went with 2 other demonstrators in my downline and came home with 3 new members!!! WOW!

So Congrats to Jane Purin for joining my team! And a big congrats to Michelle Webster and Barb Bockman for their newest recruits - Lynnette Sousa and Debby Bockman, respectively. I am so happy to have each and every one of you on my team!

Next post I promise will include pictures. I am holding a great class called Scrapping In & Out of the Box tomorrow... I'll post some pics of that.

God Bless!
Becca =)

Holland Happening...

... it really was! I teamed up with Michelle Webster to spread the word about Stampin' Up! This past weekend at Oak Harbor's Holland Happening. What a fun weekend! We met a great number of wonderful stampers - and think they "might could be" stampers - while enjoying some uncommon, but beautiful weather.

We were even approached and asked to join other vending venues this summer! So be on the lookout for us at upcoming events. Hopefully by then, the newest members of my team will be ready to join the fun.

Faux Silk Class

This is the class I am holding this week. It uses the faux silk technique -
stamped tissue paper crumpled and adhered to neutral card stock.
I got the planner from Class in a Flash - they offer some great class plans. I am very excited about this class. It is so pretty and a great way to spend an evening!

Product used: Raspberry Tart DSP, Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon, Sweet Stems stamp set, and the new wide oval punch.

This Month's Stamp-a-Stack, in case you missed it

Here are some pictures of the cards we did for this month's stamp-a-stack. This first one is a St. Patrick's day card using the SAB set, Polka Dot Punches and the new textured plates for the Big Shot. I had fun playing with inking my plate before embossing the paper. It is a neat effect!
This rest were birthday cards - this one uses A Flower for All Seasons. I love the frog!
This next one uses two SAB sets:Botanical Blooms and Congrats. I was brave with this one did not use my stamp-a-ma-jig.
I needed to make a birthday card for my aunt, and I specifically got this hostess set for that reason - she likes roosters. =)

I case'd the basics of this card and cannot even remember from where... but it uses the Raspberry Tart DSP and and the scallop Circle die for the Big Shot. The stamp set used is the Petal Pizazz.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the recent cards we have been making. If you want more information, just email me and I'll help you out any way I can.

Decor Elements

Here are some frames we decorated with our fabulous Decor Elements - there are so many uses for these! I have them on my car windows, on my walls and wherever I can find a place to put them! The first frame was only Decor Elements and some ribbon. I got a little more "creative" on the following frame and gathered a piece of ribbon, overlapped elements and used the half-back pearls from our Pretties Kit.

Here are the other ways I have used Decor Elements... so far!

This is on my kitchen wall to remind us of how blessed we are - and no matter what, we havea home filled with love. This is a Level 2 Hostess benefit.

Here is one we made for Christmas. The element is applied to some plexi-glass. My hubby made the frame so I could hang this in our front window for years to come.

I used some sheet metal so I could make my countdown calendar magnetic. The days are mounted on card stock with magnets attached to the back. Once again, I can use this for years to come!(and it will be ready to hang on December 1st this year!)

I couldn't resist ahowing our Decor Elements to the world - so I put some on my car windows. Believe it or not, these are still on my car... time for something a little more "spring-like". Maybe once the snow melts....

Valentine's Day Projects

I had the privelege of sharing my passion for paper crafting with the ladies of my MOPS group. I found a great project done by a fello SU! demonstrator. Here is the cute treat box with coordinating card. Everyone had fun putting these together - and showed a functional way to use our products.

Here is the Valentine Class I held. We made a "Valentine Bundle" following a class by Amy and Debbie's Class in a Flash. The class included a recipe booklet, candy jar, bottle of sparkling cider or wine and a coordinating card.
This had originally been advertised as a Christmas class, but I changed the color palette to reflect our Sweet Bella Style Watch (pg. 12 & 13 in our current catalog).
